Polished, well-written and designed materials help create a good first impression with current and potential clients.

You’re intentional with everything that revolves around your business. You need to be intentional with the materials you hand out. Every pamphlet, every presentation, every paper that you offer your clients should be as if you are handing them a calling card. It introduces you and your company. It tells your story. It hooks your audience.

When you walk out of the room after meeting, you should leave your potential client with two things: a good first impression, and a physical reminder of why they should choose your company.

Questions to Elevate Your Brand

For those who want to elevate their company’s brand, ask yourself the following questions about your marketing materials:

  • Does everything you hand to your potential client reflect your brand?

  • Do your materials have your company colors and logo on them?

  • Is your tagline or call to action prominently displayed in a way to remind the customer to choose you?

  • Do all documents use the correct font?

  • Are all documents concise and to the point? Are they proofread?

  • Do the materials that clients take home have your contact information on them

    ?

  • Do those materials give clients a good reason to call you? Do they reinforce why they should hire you?

  • Do your events posters and pamphlets entice an audience? Do they offer information in a three-second glance?

Do the same thing with your in-house decks:

  • Does your presentation format match your marketing materials? Are the color schemes and fonts the same?

  • Are presentation slides filled with only the most important content (instead of being crowded and difficult to read)?

  • Are the slides easy to understand? Do they allow an audience to listen to the presenter?

  • Are the visuals used in presentations relevant to the discussion? Do they add to the conversation or distract from the talking points?

  • Are the graphs you use enhancing your points or convoluting them?

Honing in on your physical materials could be the difference between hooking your audience or not.
