A website audit ensures your desktop and mobile sites are working as expected, on brand, on voice, and fresh.

Think of content and website audits as getting a checkup at the doctor’s office. You’re checking in, testing the pulse of your company to make sure it’s still going strong—and making adjustments when it’s not. Content and website audits take an in-depth look at the online presentation of your company and fine-tune it for better results.

Content and website audits are critical in order to:

  • Find small errors. Mistakes happen, and it takes a team to catch them. A friendly pair of outside eyes can find those mistakes that have been lingering in your content or website without you realizing it. From slightly misused grammar to a link that may have broken after website publication, small errors could mean a big loss.

  • Learn what’s missing. Specifically, by going over content, you learn what may be absent. Perhaps there’s a segment of clients who you’d like to be able to access, and a blog or social media post targeting them could help. What aren’t you saying that could be beneficial to your company?

  • Update new players and clients. If you keep a roster of your clients and employees online, it’s a good idea to keep that list up to date. You may have had some turnover in the last 12 months, so doing a sweep and updating where needed can make you look like you’re on top of your game.

  • Review inconsistent tones. If your website content was created by more than one person, there could be slightly mismatched tones from page to page. Making small adjustments for a unified brand tone and voice throughout will give the customer a smoother journey.

  • Create new content. Refreshing your website’s blog posts or landing page is a good way to stay relevant. Keep up with the latest in your industry, while simultaneously giving your customers crucial information that can help build a relationship between them and you.
